Chaplaincy in Tacoma began in 1971 and because of
its positive reception from the officers and citizens,
became a non-profit ministry in the early 1980’s to
support full-time chaplains.
The complete success
of the chaplaincy
concept has now
spread throughout the
County providing 30
different agencies with
volunteer or full-time
chaplaincy services.
Recognized as one of
the largest emergency
services chaplaincy
ministries in the
United States, T-PCC
now supports five
full-time chaplains
and carries a roster of
approximately thirty
volunteers, and office
staff.
Through the compassionate work of T-PCC, Chaplaincy
has truly become the standard of care for the citizens
and emergency responders in our County.
