a history of compassion

Chaplaincy in Tacoma began in 1971 and because of its positive reception from the officers and citizens, became a non-profit ministry in the early 1980’s to support full-time chaplains.

The complete success of the chaplaincy concept has now spread throughout the County providing 30 different agencies with volunteer or full-time chaplaincy services.

Recognized as one of the largest emergency services chaplaincy ministries in the United States, T-PCC now supports five full-time chaplains and carries a roster of approximately thirty volunteers, and office staff.

Through the compassionate work of T-PCC, Chaplaincy has truly become the standard of care for the citizens and emergency responders in our County.

...help and support for the healing of the mind, emotions and the spirit, which, when wounded, often outlast injuries to the body...
