Chaplain Joe Hibbard started his service as a volunteer for the Sumner Fire Department in 1999.  With the department’s merger with East Pierce Fire and Rescue, Joe’s area of responsibility grew eight fold. Joe continued serving the fire fighters and the people of the east countSy until October of 2009 when he became a full time chaplain with T-PCC.

Chaplain Hibbard now servers the fire fighters of the Tacoma Fire Department as well as the citizen’s of the cities of Tacoma, Fife and Fircrest in their times of need and responds with the department in times of death and other crises.

Chaplain Hibbard is an integral and important part of the service provided by the Tacoma Fire Department.  His mission is  ”To be visible and available to those in need.”

As the chaplaincy receives no public funding, it is funded entirely by donations.  In spite of that, T-PCC works diligently to keep chaplains available around the clock for families in their time of need.
